Police tow yellow van blocking Wroughton High Street driveway

Police in Wroughton have towed a large yellow van parked blocking a driveway, which left a married couple very late for work yesterday morning.

The inconsiderate driver, who has been seen parking in nearby lay-bys in recent days, parked the vehicle on High Street overnight on Sunday 27 February-Monday 28 February.

The couple called the local police to report the incident, and a short time later, the vehicle was recovered under Rule 243 of the Highway Code which states that drivers are not permitted to park or stop ‘in front of an entrance to a property’.

Posting in a local Facebook group, Deborah said: My partner was 2 hour late to work, and I was about 45min late. The van normally parks to the left of our drive so no problem, bit awkward to see down the road but thats life, never seen the driver of the van so have no idea who they are or where they live, and [doubt they] will apologise, so I think they now have there just deserts.”
