A pub worker who was caught driving home from a shift drunk has been banned from driving.
Peter Millard pleaded guilty to drink driving when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
The 68-year-old was stopped by a police officer near his home in Queens Drive at around midnight on 30 September this year, prosecutor Pauline Lambert said.
He was pulled over in his Ford Focus following a report suggesting the defendant was driving home from his pub shift whilst under the influence of alcohol.
Millard failed the roadside breath test and he was arrested. In custody, he provided an evidential sample of 57 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The defendant was slapped with a 14-month disqualification from driving and a £300 fine. He must also pay prosecution costs and a surcharge.
