Police have ruled out murder after a man died from reportedly falling through a window at a house in Trowbridge last month.

Emergency services raced to Whiterow Park on Monday 25 August – following reports of a disorder at the address.

A 39-year-old man was found in the garden in a life-threatening state. Despite the efforts of medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of murder and were later bailed.

A number of locals previously said that the victim had been pushed through the window, and clearly, that formed part of the investigation.

Forensic work was carried out for several days, with the broken upstairs window removed for further complex examination.

However, detectives have since ruled out foul play and both suspects face no further action. The man’s death is now being treated as non-suspicious.

In an update, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Detectives investigating the death of a 39-year-old man in Whiterow Park, Trowbridge on Monday 25 August are no longer considering the involvement of anyone else in connection with this incident.

“Two men who had been arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of murder, and subsequently released on conditional bail, were informed last night (05/09) that they are no longer considered suspects and face no further action.

“The man’s death is now being treated as a non-suspicious sudden death and our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
