Police have revealed more about a stabbing in Swindon – including the circumstances.
A man, aged in his 20s, suffered knife wounds during an attack in Malmesbury Gardens, off Dulverton Avenue in Park North, yesterday evening (Thursday, 23 November).
Two roads were cordoned off as as a crime scene as forensic enquiries were carried out and detectives spoke to witnesses to the serious assaulted.
Now, Wiltshire Police has confirmed that the victim was robbed of his bicycle by two suspects.
Offences of robbery and grievous bodily harm with intent both carry maximum sentences of life imprisonment – if police track down the offenders and justice is secured.
In a new statement, DCI Geoff Smith said: “This is an unacceptable attack where the victim was subjected to a serious assault by two suspects.
“We treat incidents like this with the utmost seriousness and we are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry.
“A significant policing presence will remain in the area while we conduct our investigation.”
He continued: “I’m aware of the concern incidents like this have on the local community, so if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to our officers.

The injured man has since been released from hospital following treatment and the crime sene was lifted early this morning (Friday).
