Police have launched a probe after a woman reported being spiked at a Chippenham club.
Officers were carrying out night-time economy patrols in the early hours of Sunday (2 February), when they were alerted to a woman who appeared to be highly intoxicated.
The woman, aged in her early 20s, had been to the closing down event at Club E11evn in The Bridge – which attracted significant numbers of people.
Police contacted the ambulance service, who attended to provide medical assistance. As a precaution, she was taken home in an ambulance.
Officers are now investigating concerns that the woman had been spiked with a drug.
According to the alleged victim’s mother, paramedics believed it could have been Rohypnol.
