Police have increased patrols after a group of anti-social youths plagued a newly installed play park in Calne over the Easter holidays.
PCSO Mark Cook’s on the case after numerous reports of incidents at the recently opened Ninja Park, situated at the Recreation Ground in Anchor Road, last week.
On Saturday (11 April), officers were provided several videos showing illegal activities taking place – which are now under investigation.
PCSO Cook is also working closely with Calne’s CCTV management team to document and evidence any offending in the area.
He said: “Since the park opened, there have unfortunately been increasing concerns about the behaviour of a small number of older children, which is negatively affecting younger users of the facility.
“We have increased patrols in the area and will continue to work closely with schools, the Town Council, Calne CCTV operators and local councillors to address the issue.
“Consideration is also being given to introducing age restrictions and clear behaviour guidelines to help protect younger users and prevent damage to the equipment.
