The occupants of a van fled from police following a pursuit through Swindon last night.

Police were called to reports of a suspicious van in the Cheney Manor Road area at around 8pm.

On arrival, the vehicle made off and authorised pursuit ensured.

A short time later the Ford Transit van came to stop in the Pinehurst area. The occupants decamped and ran from officers.

The National Police Air Service helicopter from Bristol was called in to search for the suspects but failed to locate them before leaving the area a short time later.

Wiltshire Police say their investigation into the incident is continuing.

“We are appealing for witnesses and if anyone can help, please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 54200113550”, a force spokesperson said.
