A pedestrian is fighting for their life after being hit by a motorbike in Bath – with the rider also sustaining serious injuries.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the A36 Rossiter Road shortly before 7.40pm on Saturday (11 October).
A blue Yamaha DT125R – which displayed an L-plate – struck a pedestrian as they crossed the road. The motorbike continued along the road, hitting a Ford van.

Both the rider and the pedestrian were seriously hurt, with Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance deployed alongside a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) ambulance crew.
According to several witnesses, the motorbike had overtaken a HGV and impacted the pedestrian as they walked across in front of the HGV – having emerged from a footpath.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that the pedestrian, whose sex and age has not been confirmed, sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.
The motorcyclist’s condition is being described as “serious”. The driver of the van involved was uninjured.
A spokesperson for the force said: “The road was closed between Churchill Bridge and Pulteney Road for collision investigation and recovery of the vehicle, a blue Yamaha DT125R. It was reopened by 1.45am on Sunday 12 October.
