The mum of a missing man has provided an update on routes he many have taken before his disappearance on Thursday night (27 February).

21-year-old Sebastian Sailes, from Notton, was last seen at The Black Horse pub in Chippenham town centre at around 11.30pm – but never returned home.

On day three of the urgent search, his mum has released a list of locations in which he may have walked along that night. She’s urging locals to check CCTV, camera doorbells and dashcam footage.

It’s understood there are two possible routes Sebastian could have taken as he made his way home:

Route 1: Along Avon Valley Walk to Avenue La Flèche > drop down at bridge over River Avon to Rowden dog walking fields > across walking track then up through Rowden Lane housing estate down Cornhill/Pudding Lane > B4643 Melksham Road to Lackham roundabout passing new housing development Rowden Park.

Route 2: Bath Road > Rowden Hill past Rowden Surgery, Chippenham Hospital and Rowden Arms > onto the B4643 Melksham Road towards Lackham roundabout, passing new housing development Rowden Park.

Sebastian’s mum wants local residents and drivers to check any camera footage from these locations – effectively on any route between New Road in Chippenham and the village of Notton near Lacock – after 11.30pm and into the early hours of Friday (28 February).

Wiltshire Search and Rescue has been deployed by the police to carry out a full-scale search – with specialist teams on boats combing the River Avon over concerns he may have entered the water.

On Saturday (1 March), Chief Inspector Ben Huggins said: “Sebastian’s disappearance is out of character and we and his family are extremely concerned for his welfare.

“We are currently conducting multiple lines of enquiries to locate him.

“We are working with Wiltshire Search and Rescue and we currently have extensive specialist resources in place to find him, so we would ask the public not to speculate and to allow us to conduct our enquiries.

“If you see Sebastian, or know anything about his whereabouts or disappearance, please report it on 999 quoting log 141 of yesterday’s date.”

He is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall, slim build, with blonde/brown hair with a long fringe.

He was last seen wearing a grey jumper, blue jeans, a beige fur lined jacket and white Adidas trained with a Velcro strap across the top.
