A missing man’s body was found at the bottom of a car park in Swindon town centre this morning.
A security guard on patrol discovered who police believe to be 83-year-old Wenceslao Solinis in a gap between the Buzz Gym building and The Brunel North Car Park.
Emergency services were called to the scene but he was pronounced dead on their arrival at around 10am. Wenceslao lived in Rodbourne, but he had not been seen Sunday.
The area was cordoned off as crime scene tape at before 10am, with Villett Street closed by police. Each level within the Brunel North Car Park has a small area taped off.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “At just before 10am today (02/09) we received a report from a member of the public about the discovery of a man’s body in Swindon town centre.
“Although formal identification has not yet taken place, it is believed to be the missing 83-year-old man who we reported missing in a press release yesterday; his next of kin have been informed. Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will now be prepared for HM Coroner.”
