A minibus overturned in a crash with a lorry on the A350 near Trowbridge this evening (Monday).
A significant number of emergency services responded to reports of a road traffic collision on a T-junction in Yarnbrook Road, in the Ashton Common area, at around 6pm.
It involved a Peugeot Boxer minibus from Warminster School – carrying approximately 12 people – and a car transporter.
Several children were taken to hospital for assessment, but nobody is believed to have sustained any serious injuries in the incident.
It’s understood the driver of the minibus pulled out of the junction into the path of the lorry travelling along the major A-road towards Trowbridge.
The driver of the lorry attempted to avoid a collision, but could not stop in time – this is evidenced by lengthy skid marks.
The road was closed between Semington and West Ashton until shortly after 9pm to allow for vehicle recovery work.
