A BMW has fallen on a man’s head in Chippenham sparking a major ambulance response.
Specialist medics raced to the scene in Hill Corner Road at around 4.30pm this afternoon.
The man, who had been working on a blue one series, was undoing bolts when the car fell onto his head, trapping him. A wheel below the vehicle stopped the car from falling fully to the ground.
On hearing his screams for help, his daughter’s boyfriend managed to race out and quickly free him from beneath the car using a jack.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed in a field in Oaklands, whilst specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) medics and a critical care doctor from SWIFT Medics responded in blue light vehicles.
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 4.23pm to a report someone was trapped under a vehicle.
“Our teams treated a male patient and transported him to hospital by land. His condition wasn’t thought to be too serious.”
