A man’s been arrested after allegedly smashing up a car with a hammer.
The suspect, described as a ‘maniac’ by a witness, was reportedly seen shouting abuse during the incident in Drakes Way yesterday afternoon (Monday, 11 March).
It’s claimed he armed himself with a hammer and repeatedly smashed a car windscreen with it – believed to be owned by a driver he was have a dispute with.
The incident, which is believed to have been road rage related, happened at around 4.30pm. Numerous police officers, including two armed officers, detained the man.
The suspect, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of affray. He remains in custody for questioning.
