A manhunt is underway after a man was stabbed in his home this afternoon.

South Western Ambulance Service were called to Ashington House Surgery, Swindon, following reports of a man having been seriously injured.

On discovering the casualty, in his 40s, had suffered a stab wound during a burglary at his home, police backup was requested by medics.

Local officers, armed officers and a dog unit all attended the incident at around 2pm, with a crime scene cordoned off near his address in Affleck Close.

The victim was taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment. His injuries aren’t said to be life-threatening.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
