A man is in hospital after a truck ploughed into a traffic island in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision in Cricklade Road, outside Clive Parade, at around 8.10am on Saturday (23 November).
A white pick-up truck struck the traffic island, damaging a set of traffic lights.
The driver of the vehicle, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital with injuries.
However, Wiltshire Police say his wounds aren’t thought to be serious.
The force confirmed that no arrests were made in connection with the incident. It’s not clear if the driver will face any further action following the collision.
Swindon Borough Council operatives were in attendance for much of the day, as work was carried out to make the scene safe.
The road was initially closed to northbound traffic, but reopened a short time later.
