A dog has been seized by police after a man was seriously injured in an attack.
Emergency services rushed to the incident in Haydon View Road, off Whitworth Road in Swindon, at around 3.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 June).
A man, aged in his 40s, was treated by paramedics for bite wounds to his neck – as at least seven police cars attended the scene alongside ambulance crews.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was also tasked to the address, but the charity’s helicopter was stood down moments after it entered the airspace over Swindon.
The casualty was instead rushed to hospital by land ambulance, in convoy with a rapid response vehicle, for further care. His current condition is unknown at this time.
The dog involved in the savage attack, a German Sheppard, was seized by officers and taken to a local vet. It’s not clear whether the dog needed medical treatment or was put to sleep.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that no arrests were made in connection with the incident.
