A man, who police say they have not yet identified, has suffered head injuries during a serious assault in a Chippenham car park this morning.
Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 4am today, Saturday 22 April, at Bath Road Car Park in the town centre.
A man received serious head injuries and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Two men were arrested at scene: a 19 year old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and affray, and a 20 year old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
DC Justine Parsons from Melksham CID said: “There were a lot of people around at the time of this assault, and I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident, or the events leading up to it, to come forward and speak to us.
“Anyone with any information is asked to call Melksham CID on 101, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.”
