A man has been arrested and then recalled to prison after reportedly laying on the tracks at Chippenham railway station.
Wiltshire Police and the British Transport Police raced to reports of the incident unfolding on the platform at around 8.45pm on Friday evening (19 September).
Officers flooded the station as approaching trains were stopped on the line to prevent any risk to the man, who was said to be acting aggressively.

The man, who is understood to have refused to engage with police on their arrival, was then taken to the ground and restrained for at least 30 minutes.
Trains started to flow through the station again while officers had control of the man – who was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
As a result of his arrest, he was recalled to prison to serve the remainder of his sentence. Details of the offence in which he was jailed have not been disclosed.
An officer on scene confirmed that a woman – who was somehow involved in the incident – was “distressed”, and has been taken to the back of a police car.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said that officers were sent after “reports of a man acting aggressively on the platform”.
Adding that he was “arrested on suspicion of drunk and disorderly behaviour”, but has since been “recalled to prison”.
