A man who was reportedly run over by a lorry has died at the scene of a serious crash in Salisbury city centre.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision outside Ladbrokes, in Fisherton Street, at around 10.45am this morning (Tuesday).
The incident prompted a significant response by 999 services, with the road swiftly cordoned off by the fire service and police.

According to several locals, the crash involved a pedestrian and a lorry. However, this has not been confirmed by authorities at this stage.
Wiltshire Police confirmed only that a 64-year-old man was pronounced dead.
The force is yet to say whether the man was a pedestrian or within a vehicle, or what vehicles were involved.
Cordoned off within the scene are two DAF lorries – one carrying machinery and one a Hills-branded dustbin lorry.

“His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time”, a spokesperson said.
Adding: “Fisherton Street remains closed at present to allow for further investigations to be carried out.
“Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dashcam footage is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log 76 of today’s date 28/10) or email [email protected].”
