A man has suffered knife wounds in an incident near a woodland in Swindon.
Police raced to reports of three men behaving suspiciously in Wigmore Avenue, near Lawn Woods, shortly before 8pm on Monday evening (21 October).
One of the men approached an officer with injuries to his upper arm – believed to have been inflicted with a bladed article.
Wiltshire Police say the wounds aren’t being described as serious.
Officers remained in the area for some time, searching nearby roads in a bid to catch the attackers.
A local resident claimed that part of the Lawn Woods was cordoned off with tape for around an hour.
By 10pm only one uniformed officer and two detectives from Swindon CID remained – swabbing the pavement and bagging evidence outside a house.
“Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing”, a force spokesperson confirmed.
