Man taken to hospital after being attacked in Chippenham street

A man has been taken to hospital after being attacked in a Chippenham street.

Police were called to a disorder breaking out in Ladyfield Road, near Sheldon Road, shortly before 10pm on Tuesday evening (23 April).

Officers attended the scene and a group of males involved dispersed.

A man, aged in his 20s, sustained a nose injury and was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment.

The road was blocked by emergency services between Unity Street and Kingsley Road for a short time while they dealt with the incident.

Wiltshire Police have launched an investigation into the assault.
