An air ambulance has been dispatched for a crash on the A4 near Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to Bath Road, around 100 metres east of the Chequers Hill crossroads, at around 2.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
Two cars appeared to have impacted head-on, sustaining significant front off-side damage.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance landed in a field alongside the incident, with two critical care medics racing to provide treatment.
Wiltshire Police have closed the road in both directions.
UPDATE 4PM: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust have confirmed that Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
A critical care doctor was also deployed alongside an ambulance and an ambulance operations officer.
No patients are thought to have required urgent hospital care. Nobody is said to have been seriously injured.
The road remains closed.
