A man’s been arrested after a woman was seriously injured at a Chippenham flat.

Emergency services were called to an address in Portway, off Ladyfield Road, following reports of a disturbance on Friday morning (7 March).

A woman was found to have sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not being described as life-threatening.

While in attendance, police arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the attack.

The suspect is currently being questioned in custody, where’s he’s being held on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment and criminal damage.

The flat was declared a crime scene, with forensic investigation work carried out later that evening. However, officers have since left the property.

Anyone with information, or who witnessed the incident, are asked to contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101 and quoting log 54250028453.
