A man’s been arrested following a police pursuit through east Swindon yesterday evening.
Up to a dozen police vehicles were seen pursuing a silver Vauxhall Astra at high speed through parts of Greenbridge, Walcot and Park North at around 8pm on Tuesday, 6 February.
Shortly before 8pm, officers attempted to stop a Vauxhall Astra in Shrivenham Road.
The vehicle failed to stop for officers and continued to be driven through a bus gate into Greenbridge Retail Park where a pursuit commenced. During the chase, the vehicle was driven at excess speed, through red lights, towards oncoming vehicles and across fields with no lights on.

The vehicle was lost to sight but was then found abandoned and insecure near a block of flats.
A search of an address within the flats was carried out and the keys to the vehicle were located.
A 31-year-old man, believed to be the driver, was located in the hallway. He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
A search of the vehicle was then carried out and items were located which suggested the vehicle was being used to supply drugs including cash, mobile phones and drug paraphernalia.
The man was then further arrested for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. He remains in custody at Gablecross while enquiries continue.
Anyone with information in relation to this incident should call police on 101.
