A man’s been arrested after drugs and weapons were found in a Chippenham raid.
Police executed a warrant at a property in Clifton Close at around 11am on Thursday (8 August).
Searches of the address uncovered a large quantity of class A and B drugs were located, as well as a baton and Katana (sword), and materials to produce a potential cannabis growth.
The raid was supported by police dog Reggie and his handler, who helped find illicit items.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
He was taken to Melksham custody for questioning and has since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
PC Paul Croft said: “Warrants of this nature are often made possible thanks to the intelligence provided to us from the local community and we would urge anybody concerned about drug supply in their neighbourhood to contact us immediately.
“We know that drug supply is often associated with violence, weapons and other criminality and it can have a particularly negative impact on a neighbourhood.
“We hope news of this warrant provides reassurance to local residents that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.”
