A man has been arrested after ‘driving a car at children’ at Trowbridge Carnival.
The suspect is said to have bypassed a road closure in Bythesea Road as he tried to free his car – driving it at members of the public.
Those in front of the vehicle – including some children – were able to avoid a collision.
However, the man then proceeded to exit his car and started threatening people in the area.
Officers raced to the scene and arrested the man on suspicion of two public order offences and dangerous driving.
In custody, the man was further arrested for driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and without insurance.
He was released while officers continue to investigate the incident.
