A man’s been seriously injured in a suspected stabbing at a park in Swindon this afternoon.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed in The Park on Faringdon Road at around 4pm after the victim, aged in his 20s, suffered what is understood to be stab wounds to his chest.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are currently dealing with an incident in Faringdon Road, Swindon in which a man has been assaulted.
”The victim, a man in his 20’s, sustained a wound to his chest and is being treated by paramedics. He will be taken to hospital via air ambulance shortly.
“We can confirm that a man has been arrested in connection with the assault.
“Officers are conducting a range of enquiries in the area so local residents are likely to see an increased police presence. There is nothing to suggest a risk to the wider public and we will release further information when appropriate to keep the community informed.”
