A 33-year-old man has been assaulted by a group of people in Melksham.
The attack, which left the victim with injuries to his face and ribs, took place at around 1.50am on Saturday 17 December, outside Peacocks, in Bank Street.
The man was taken to Bath, where he was treated at the Royal United Hospital.
Community Policing Investigator Eleanor Bettles said: “The victim was helped by members of the public following the assault.
“As well as this, there were a number of people stood outside the kebab house in Bank Street at the time, therefore there must be witnesses to the assault.
“We’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or who saw the group of people prior to, or after, the assault.
“You may have information which could help our investigation.”
