A Malmesbury paedophile’s innocent neighbour has been threatened with death in what is believed to be a case of mistaken identity.
The incident happened near the home of former Wiltshire Police officer Callum Denley in Old Alexander Road on Tuesday evening (10 March).
Tensions are high after the 21-year-old was spared a prison sentence for a third time – after committing new offences of possessing indecent images of children.
A car with male occupants pulled up in darkness, targeting a man who was stood in a garden. The victim was an innocent neighbour of the sex offender.
The suspects shouted words to the effect of “dirty f***ing paedo” and “gonna f***ing kill you” – before driving away from the scene.

The victim reported the incident to Wiltshire Police and an investigation was launched.
Neighbourhood Inspector Scott Anger said the force is taking the report “very seriously” and is stepping up patrols by officers in the area.
He said: “We have received a report of threats being made against the occupants of a property in Malmesbury.
“These are being taken very seriously and a criminal investigation has been launched. Proactive enquiries to identify the suspects are ongoing.
“Increased patrols and a heightened policing presence will be in the area in the coming days, alongside additional safeguarding measures for the victims.”
