A ‘major smash’ near Highworth has closed a busy main route both ways.
A361 Swindon Road is closed between Swindon Street and Supermarine Roundabout following the road traffic collision at around 8.30am today (Wednesday).
Emergency services are in attendance and the road is closed in both directions.
One local resident described the incident as a “major smash on the top of Redlands Hill involving several vehicles”.
UPDATE 8.45AM: A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that the A361 – just south of Highworth – is currently blocked following a minor road traffic collision involving three cars.
“Please seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area.”
