UPDATE: Man dies after being hit by car on busy Chippenham junction
A major road in Chippenham has been closed after a serious crash on a busy junction.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the A4 Avenue La Fleche at around 5.30pm this afternoon (Sunday).
It happened on the busy junction with Gladstone Road — which was swarmed by 999 crews immediately following.
At least one person sustained serious injuries and are receiving urgent care from ambulance crews and Wiltshire Air Ambulance medics.
The road is closed in both directions between Bridge Centre Roundabout and Pewsham Way. Gladstone Road is also closed on Gladstone Bridge.
The route will is likely to remain closed overnight and into tomorrow morning (Monday, 18 December) for forensic collision investigation work.
