A main road in Swindon has been partially closed following a serious crash.
Emergency services were called to the scene, reportedly involving a car and a male child, in Drakes Way at around 4pm this afternoon.
A large number of police vehicles, two ambulances and a fire engine are in attendance of the incident near to the junction with Ocotal Way.
The road has been partially blocked while 999 crews work at the scene.
The nature and seriousness of the casualty’s injuries are unknown at this time.
UPDATE 6.15PM: Wiltshire Police has released a statement following the incident:
“We were called to reports of an RTC (road traffic collision) on Drakes Way in Swindon shortly after 4pm today involving a cyclist and a car”, a spokesperson commented.
Adding: “A teenage boy was taken to Great Western Hospital to be treated for his injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
“Drakes Way was partially closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident but has now reopened.
