Main road in Swindon closed both directions after lorry versus car crash

A main road Swindon has been closed following a road traffic collision.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Drakes Way at around 7pm this evening.

A lorry is said to have collided with a car, causing significant damage. The vehicles have come to rest on oppositive sides of the carriageway.

Police have closed the road in both directions between Ocotal Way and Marlowe Avenue.

It’s not yet clear if anyone’s been seriously injured, but motorists should avoid the area for the foreseeable future.


UPDATE 8.15PM: The road has reopened in the direction of Greenbridge. The opposite carriageway remains closed.

No one’s believed to have been seriously injured in the collision.
