Hundreds of homes are without power in south Chippenham this afternoon (22 September).
SSE is reporting that more than 31 postcode areas are affected by the outage, which may see properties without electricity until 3.30pm.
Chippenham Community Hospital features on the edge of the zone suffering from power loss but it is unclear if it is affected at this stage.
Postcodes starting with SN13 and SN15 are involved in the outage.
Areas affected by the power cut include Patterdown, Showell, Notton, and other areas west of Lacock.
An SSE spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for the powercut affecting Chippenham, Lacock and the surrounding areas. Engineers are en-route and expect to have the power back on by 15:30.”
