A teenage girl suffered a panic attack when she was thrown into a lake by an unknown man.
The 13-year-old was attacked in East Wichelstowe at around 3.30pm on Saturday 7 August and police are appealing for help in locating the suspect.
The girl, who is unable to swim, suffered a panic attack while she was in the water.
The victim was with her friends, noticed that the life ring was lying in the grass. When she picked it up and put it on the jetty, she heard a man shouting from the other side of the lake but thought nothing of it.
The same man is then said to have ran towards her, picked her up and then tried to throw her into the water. Initially, the girl managed to grab on to the wooden frame of the jetty but he pulled her off and threw her in.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “This has left the girl feeling very shaken and her mobile phone was also damaged as a result of going into the water.
“The man is described as being white, around six feet tall with a large build, he is bald and has a ginger beard. He was wearing a green coat.
“He was with a woman who had long brown hair and was wearing a red coat. They were walking a black and white Jack Russell.”
