The family of a girl who died after being electrocuted on a railway line have released a tribute.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was among the emergency crews that rushed to attempt to save 15-year-old Roxy Phillips last Thursday (23 March).
Paramedics sadly pronounced the teenager dead at the scene in Weymouth, Dorset.
Roxy’s family released a tribute and said they would like to raise awareness of railways dangers.
In a statement, they wrote: “As a family we are devastated for the loss of our daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter and cousin, Roxy Phillips.
“Roxy was a strong-willed young woman, an animal lover who loved horses especially her own horse Bradley.
“Roxy was loved and adored by her friends, we as a family have felt this love through the tributes and kind messages we have received.
“We would like to raise awareness of the dangers of the railway tracks, unknown to most that the third rail is live 24 hours a day all year round. This was a tragic accident that we as a family will never be able to overcome.
“We will always love and miss you, our beautiful Roxy.”
The British Transport Police confirmed that an investigation into her death is ongoing.
A force spokesperson added: “Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Greenway Road, Weymouth, between the hours of 1am and 2.30am, as they may have information which could assist their enquiries.
“Those with information can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 42 of 23 March.”
