A fundraiser has been set up for an ‘amazing’ Evri worker who was hurt when her van was robbed in Blunsdon on Monday (22 September).
Well-respected Agniezka, known as ‘Aggie’ was dragged along High Street after an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and drove away at around 12.30pm.
Wiltshire Police confirmed in a statement that the woman, aged in her 40, sustained potentially life-changing injuries in the serious incident.
Officers located her van a short time later, recovering it for forensic examination. An investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
The Heart in Hand pub have launched a donations pot, so punters and locals can give cash to Aggie as she recovers from her ordeal.
A spokesperson said: ‘A lot of people in the village will know the lovely Evri delivery driver Agniezka. Unfortunately today some cruel man stole her van whilst she was trying to do her job that she does on a day to day basis.
‘To get behind her and her family and help her in this hard time we will have a donation box at the pub to help support her in this terrible time. Any donation will be welcome. We wish you all the best and a speedy recovery Agniezka.’
While another villager Sam Fitzpatrick set up a GoFundMe, allowing people to donate online.
She said: “As I’m sure many of you now know, Aggie, our amazing Evri driver in Blunsdon and Highworth has been injured in a horrific incident in Blunsdon today.
“Aggie is well known in the villages and is always happy to help everyone. She’s not just a delivery driver but goes above and beyond, taking time to talk to her customers and is a genuine ray of sunshine.
“Due to the extent of her reported injuries, it’s very likely that she will be unable to work for some time, and as a show of our gratitude, I would like to raise some funds for her to at least relieve some of the financial pressure that this will put her under.
“We hope that in doing so that she’ll know how appreciated and loved she is and that it will help her toward a speedy recovery.”
