Four people have been charged with attacking a man who kicked their dog in Savernake Forest.
Zoey Wilson and Tara Wilson, of Radcot Close, Swindon, and Sheryl Roberts and Dwayne Roberts, of Little Vigo, Yateley, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court jointly accused of affray on 29 June.
Crown prosecutor Natalie Cheesman said the defedants, who all aged in their 30s, were walking a number of dogs together in the forest near Marlborough on 9 May last year.
The alleged victim in the case – a man who was walking his dog with his daughter – spotted the group coming towards him and moved out of the path to allow them to pass.
Ms Cheesman said one of the group’s dogs got free, ran over to the alleged victim and started attacking his dog. In a bid to stop the attack, he kicked the group’s dog.
It’s alleged that the two married couples then used violence towards him – by pushing him and shouting abuse. Dwayne Roberts is also accused of repeatedly punching him in the face.
All four co-defendants deny the charge of affray. Despite the magistrates accepting jurisdiction over the case, the group elected a trial at Swindon Crown Court.
They were released on unconditional bail until 29 July, when they will return to court for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
