UPDATE: Girl, 13, arrested for murder after woman ‘killed’ in Swindon home
Forensics have swooped on an a house in Swindon after a woman was ‘killed’ – as a teenager is held in custody over the death.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was among the emergency services tasked to reports of a woman unresponsive in Baydon Close, Moredon, on Friday evening (21 November).
It came after police raced to calls about a disorder at an address in the street – with officers arriving to the victim, aged in her 50s, not breathing in the hallway.

Now, Wiltshire Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team are leading an probe into her death. A team of five forensics specialists were deployed at the scene overnight.
A teenage girl, whose age has not been disclosed, was arrested by officers and taken into custody for questioning. It’s not yet been confirmed for what offence/s.

DI Darren Ambrose from the Major Crime Investigation Team said: “This is a serious incident in which a woman has sadly died.
“We have set up a cordon at the address while an investigation is carried out. This is likely to remain in place overnight and throughout tomorrow.
“I can confirm that we have arrested a teenage girl in connection with this incident and we are not looking for anyone else.
“We would encourage people not to speculate on the circumstances around this incident.
“We appreciate the concern that this may cause the local community. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to an officer.”
