The first picture teenager stabbed to death in a Chippenham street has been shared by his mother – as a 15-year-old suspect remains in custody.
16-year-old Hardenhuish School pupil Shayne Hambakachere was killed in a knife attack in London Road at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon (31 January).
His mother, who has thanked Wiltshire 999s for its respectful coverage of her son’s murder, has provided a favourite photograph of him to accompany future reporting.

Medics from both Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance Charity battled to save Shayne’s life alongside police and local ambulance crews.
Despite their efforts, and the efforts of doctors at the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, he was pronounced dead on Sunday (1 February).
London Road, near Royal Oak Close, was cordoned off for two days while forensic enquiries were carried out at the scene. It has since reopened.

A 15-year-old boy remains in police custody. He was arrested shortly after the incident, and is being questioned by murder detectives.
In a statement this morning (Monday), senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Darren Ambrose said: “This is a tragedy which has resulted in a young man losing his life.
“We understand the concern that this will have in the local community and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
“We have arrested a teenage boy in relation to this incident and our enquiries are ongoing.
“It’s vitally important that we hear from anyone with information about this incident or anyone who saw what took place.”
