Firefighters are currently battling a huge blaze in a field near Stonehenge.
Several fire crews were spotted responding to the incident in Lake, a hamlet several miles southwest of Amesbury, at around 4pm today (Saturday, 6 August).
A water carrier was also seen rushed to the fire on blue lights, to provide support to firefighters who may need additional water supplies due to the rural location.
The significant black smoke plume can be seen for miles around – including by visitors to Woodhenge and across Salisbury Plain.
The incident is ongoing just two miles from Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but the site isn’t believed to be at risk.
