Farm animals were rescued from a burning barn near Malmesbury this morning.
Firefighters arrived at the scene just off an unnamed road in Easton Grey, between the B4040 and Whitehouse Lane, at around 10am to discover the building up in flames.
Fire crews from Malmesbury, Chippenham, Tetbury and Nailsworth, supported by a water carrier from Royal Wootton Bassett, battled the serious blaze.
“The fire involved straw bedding and the barn was well alight on arrival”, a spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service told Wiltshire 999s.
Adding: “Four breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.”
Firefighters had finished dealing with the fire by 12.15pm.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
