Three fire crews were called to a Swindon sheltered housing block this afternoon.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service raced to George Hall Court at Cavendish Square in Park South at around 12.40pm today, to reports of fire alarms actuating.
On arrival, it was found that the alarms were set off by fumes from cooking.
It’s standard procedure to send a number of fire engines to a potential high-rise fire. When no fire was found at the scene, two crews were freed up to attend other calls.
