Emergency services are responding to an incident at a Swindon high-rise.
Approximately ten fire engines are attending the Paramount Building in Princes Street, in Swindon town centre, this afternoon (Saturday).
An aerial ladder platform appliance, several fire officers, numerous police units and ambulances are also in attendance.
One resident reported that the “basement was filled with smoke”, but firefighters are still working to establish the cause.
Most, if not all, residents have been evacuated and are outside in the cold weather as 999 crews work.
The exact nature of the incident is unknown and it’s not clear if anyone’s been injured.
Beckhampton Street and Spring Gardens are both blocked by emergency vehicles.
