A man’s dies in hospital following a crash on the A419 in Swindon on Thursday.
Around 5.30pm, a Nissan Micra failed to negotiate the exit bend of B4006 near the Royal Mail sorting office and collided with a lamp post and fence.
The road was closed for around three hours while emergency services worked at the scene.
The 78-year-old male driver, from Swindon, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital after being extricated from the car, but sadly died of his injuries.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “If anyone heard or saw the incident or has any information in relation to this, please contact PC Lucy Fair on 101.”
