A driver has been taken to hospital after crashing down an embankment.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the A420 near Ford, west of Chippenham, at around 7.30am this morning (Tuesday).
A vehicle left the road on a bend and careered down a steep embankment.
Two fire crews were mobilised to the scene, with firefighters deploying a triple extension ladder to rescue the driver from the bottom of the hill.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that the driver, a man, was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath by ambulance for treatment.
Though he’s not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Blue Watch mobilised to a road traffic collision involving a vehicle that had left the road and gone down an embankment.
“Two crews from [Chippenham] attended and confirmed no persons trapped.
“The casualty was assisted from the embankment using a triple extension ladder.”
