A driver has been reported to court after an insecure steel beam injured a motorist.

Police were called to the scene on the A360 Southbroom Road, Devizes, this morning (Friday).

A steel beam, which was being transported in a van, fell on top of a blue Peugeot.

It is thought the load moved forward, over the van’s cabin and onto the vehicle in front when the driver was forced to brake harshly — proving that the beams were not being transported securely.

The car driver is believed to have sustained minor injuries. The van driver was reported to court.
