A driver has been arrested after a car overturned in a dramatic smash in Swindon.
Police were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Bath Road, Old Town, at around 5.30pm this afternoon (Friday).
It’s understood a red Kia crashed into a Porshe Cayenne, which was parked at the site of the road.
On impact, the Kia overturned and the Porshe hit a traffic light near the Kent Road junction – but nobody sustained any noteworthy injuries.
The driver of the Kia was pulled from his vehicle by the owner of the Porshe ahead of 999 crews arriving.
Officers subsequently arrested the male driver of the Kia on suspicion of drug driving.
He was put into a police van and taken to Gablecross custody to provide samples for analysis and be questioned about the incident.
The road is closed between Goddard Avenue/Kent Road and Eastcott Hill. Recovery has been tasked and the route is likely to reopen by around 7.30pm.
