UPDATE: Three-day investigation into ‘incident’ at Swindon home concludes
A crime scene is in place at a Swindon home as detectives probe an ‘incident’.
It’s understood emergency services first attended the property in Chandos Close, Grange Park, on Tuesday evening (23 April).
Residents living nearby have noticed a police presence, with the house guarded day and night since – usually by officers sat in a car on the driveway.
The front door appears to have been smashed in with a battering ram, potentially when 999 crews initially made entry to the building.
Forensics – wearing white suits – entered yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, 24 April) and have been on scene again this afternoon (Thursday) alongside specialist search officers.
A local claimed that Thames Water attended the address – searching drains with a camera.
They also say that nobody was inside the property when it was raided by police on Tuesday and did not witness any ambulance vehicles in attendance.
Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries, but have reportedly refused to tell people what happened – leaving residents concerned.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said they were called to a “medical incident” and are currently investigating whether any crimes have been committed.
The force refused to provide any details on casualties or their conditions, stating it “would be inappropriate to comment any further”.
They said there “is no risk to the wider public”.
