Crime scene in place after woman’s body found in Swindon town centre car park

A woman’s body was found in Swindon town centre this afternoon.

Emergency services were sent to the scene following a report that a deceased female in the Regent Street Car Park at around 5.45pm (30 December).

A large crime scene is in place within the car park between Sanford Street and Edgeware Road whilst forensics and detectives work to investigate the cause of death.

The death is currently being treated as “unexplained”, Wiltshire Police has confirmed.

“A cordon is currently in place at the car park while enquiries are carried out”, a force spokesperson said. “Please avoid the area while these enquiries are conducted.”
